Federal Disaster Aid Now Available for all New Jersey Counties
In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, Sunday, September 4, 2011, Governor Christie announced that the request for disaster assistance for the state of New Jersey has been approved by the Federal Government.
Every county in New Jersey is now approved for both individual and public assistance by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, ( FEMA).
New Jersey Residents and small businesses who suffered damage caused by Hurricane Irene are urged to call 800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 800-462-7585 for those with hearing or speech impediments to register. Specialists are available from 7:00am to 10:00pm est, 7 days a week. Online registration is also available at: www.DisasterAssistance.gov. You can also register register through a web enabled mobile device or smartphone by visiting m.fema.gov and follow the link to “apply online for federal assistance.”
