The NJCM strongly advocates innovative tax reform that minimizes the tax burden on working families and employers while still establishing a stable, adequate funding base for the services municipal governments must provide residents. We support tax strategies that recognize the changing nature of economic activity in the United States, as new technologies influence the creation of wealth. The NJCM supports property tax relief an d opposes proposals that shift costs from the state to local governments, which exacerbates our state’s property tax crisis.
